E-Commerce Platform Migration
Migrated a monolithic B2C platform to a composable SAP Spartacus architecture
Challenge
The client operated a legacy monolithic e-commerce platform that could no longer scale to meet growing traffic demands, mobile conversion targets, or multi-region expansion. Frequent outages during peak sales events and release cycles measured in months were constraining business growth.
Solution
Architected and led the migration to a headless composable architecture based on SAP Commerce Cloud with the Spartacus storefront. The solution decoupled the frontend from the backend, enabling independent deployments, faster iterations, and a modern PWA-based user experience with SSR for SEO-critical pages.
Architecture
- Headless commerce with SAP Commerce Cloud + Spartacus Angular storefront
- SSR with Angular Universal for SEO-critical listing and product pages
- PWA with service worker for offline-capable browsing and improved Core Web Vitals
- Micro-frontend architecture for multi-team parallel development
- CI/CD pipeline with staging, canary releases, and automated E2E tests
Impact
- Reduced page load time by 60% (LCP from 4.2s to 1.6s)
- Enabled multi-region deployment with zero-downtime releases
- Cut release cycles from monthly to weekly with parallel team workflows
- Improved mobile conversion rate by 35%
